Monofilament

A monofilament is a single synthetic fiber strand. Polymers are melted and mixed to create monofilament. Nylon was utilized for a broad range of applications, with features such as a high melting point and great abrasion resistance, many of which were for military purposes. Monofilament thread is strong and simple to work with, however there are a few pointers and cautions I'd like to provide. In my sewing machine, I usually use monofilament thread in the top and normal thread in the bobbin.

Monofilament yarns are mostly used to create textiles for specific applications, such as filtration polymer monofilament fabrics and architectural metal wire fabrics.
